Softball Recap: Eastside's Winning Streak Snapped at 11 Games

Eastside dropped their record down to 19-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Leo Lions, falling 13-7. The Blazers were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Leo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.

For Leo's part, they got a big performance out of Ella Moore, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kortney Dowty, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Eastside and Leo should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Blazers will face off against Lakeland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (38 vs. 246). Meanwhile, Leo (ranked 26th) will meet DeKalb (ranked 158th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
