After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Northglenn, the Thornton Trojans were happy to have found some success  on Thursday. Everything went their way against Gateway as Thornton made off with a  39-16 win. The  game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Thornton had established  a  20 point advantage.
  Julionna Sandoval had a dynamite game for Thornton,  scoring 12 points along with eight  rebounds and six  steals. Sandoval hasn't dropped below two  steals for eight straight games.  Araya William was another key contributor,  scoring six points along with five  rebounds and three  blocks.
 Thornton's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Gateway, they are  on a 11-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-14.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thornton will take on the Trojans at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked  in Colorado (Aurora Central is ranked 233rd, while the Trojans are ranked 250th). As for Gateway, they will look to defend their home court  on Tuesday against the Wolverines at 7:00  p.m.
