Cocke County found their leader in underclassman Blakelyn Clevenger, who scored 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. Shakyra Reed was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Mercy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Cocke County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Mercy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Male at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Male is ranked 100th, while Mercy is ranked 89th). Cocke County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against George Rogers Clark at 12:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023.
