The Valley Vikings had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Leechburg by a score of 53-46 on Tuesday. The win was just what Valley needed coming off of a 52-26 loss in their prior matchup.
Despite the loss, Leechburg still got an impressive performance from Jayden Floyd, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. The contest was Floyd's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brady Rollinger, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Valley's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2. As for Leechburg, they bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley is on the road again on Friday and play against Apollo Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for Leechburg, they will face off against St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
