The Arvin Bears were the 68-54 winner over the Kern Valley Broncs when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Arvin was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 46-45 to Kern Valley. Arvin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Arvin still got an impressive performance from Allen Stone, who scored 18 points. Stone scored a full 40% of Arvin's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Xzavier Pierson-Brooks was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Kern Valley can attribute much of their success to Joey Galvan, who scored 13 points. The game was Galvan's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Daniel Hinkey, who scored 5 points.
Arvin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Kern Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arvin will take on Desert Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kern Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Boron at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
