If the Lake County Panthers were feeling good off their 68-48 takedown of the Vail Christian Saints on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lake County took a 58-44 bruising from Vail Mountain on Saturday. Lake County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Vail Mountain apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Lake County still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Martinez, who scored 21 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Martinez scored a full 47.7% of Lake County's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Valdez, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals.
Lake County now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Vail Mountain, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Lake County is on the road again on Saturday and play against Cotopaxi at 5:00 p.m. on December 9th. As for Vail Mountain, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Fork at 7:00 p.m.
