With a playoff game on the line, the Stone Bridge Bulldogs rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 21-10 victory over the Warriors. The win was nothing new for Stone Bridge as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Stone Bridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Kaiser, who rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also caught a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Tyson Miller, who rushed for 108 yards on only 12 carries.
Despite the loss, Matoaca still got an impressive performance from Dillon Newton-short, who picked up 118 receiving yards and a touchdown. Newton-short was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 61 yards.
Stone Bridge pushed their record up to 8-4-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.8 points per game. As for Matoaca, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.
Stone Bridge will face off against Maury at TBD on Saturday. One thing working in Maury's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 contests. Matoaca does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
