The Catalina Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 103-13 loss at the hands of Sabino. Catalina was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 68-9.
Sabino got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caden Watkins out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Watkins set a new season high mark in assists with five. Chris Herndon was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven assists and seven steals.
Catalina's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-10. As for Sabino, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-12 record this season.
Catalina will be playing in front of their home fans against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Catalina in Arizona (Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is ranked 118th, while Catalina is ranked 323rd). As for Sabino, they will head out on the road to face off against Thatcher at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
