In what's become a running theme this season, the Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Fredericksburg Academy 68-33 on the road. Given Randolph-Macon Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Fredericksburg Academy is ranked 338th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Randolph-Macon Academy was led to victory by Nolan Kirabo and Chidera George. Kirabo scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while George almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 12 rebounds, and nine blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kirabo has scored all season. Grant Leasure was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Randolph-Macon Academy pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Fredericksburg Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Randolph-Macon Academy will head out on the road to face off against Trinity Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Fredericksburg Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Michael the Archangel at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Michael the Archangel is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
