After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Myrtle Beach, the Georgetown Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Monday. They took down Hemingway 57-41. That's another feather in the cap for Georgetown, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Georgetown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ty Stanley , who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jari Ford, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Georgetown's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7. As for Hemingway, they bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgetown won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Andrews at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Andrews is ranked 172nd, while Georgetown is ranked 189th). As for Hemingway, they will head out on the road to face off against Calhoun County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Calhoun County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three matches.
