Penns Manor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Smith led the charge by scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least 25% of Penns Manor's points. Another player making a difference was Alex Polenik, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Williamsburg's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 97-81 bruising from West Branch. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Monday (65), Williamsburg still had to take the loss.
Penns Manor's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Williamsburg, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-1.
Things could have been worse for Penns Manor, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-55 loss to Williamsburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2022.
