Baseball Recap: Manchester Has No Trouble Against Varina

Manchester won the last time they faced Varina and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lancers put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 9-1 victory. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Varina's batters probably weren't too happy with Judah Parks, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up zero walks). Parks is becoming a predictor of Manchester's success: when he allows at most two walks the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Easton Butts, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Tyson Penepacker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Manchester's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Varina, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Manchester and Varina will both be playing Highland Springs the next time they take the field. The Lancers will head out to face the Springers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Blue Devils will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
