The Clarksburg Coyotes entered their tilt with the Quince Orchard Cougars with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. Clarksburg claimed a resounding 62-33 win over Quince Orchard on the road. Given Clarksburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Quince Orchard is ranked 168th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Quince Orchard still got an impressive performance from Ishani Maheshwari, who scored five points along with two steals.
Clarksburg's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Quince Orchard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarksburg will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Seneca Valley at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th. Clarksburg is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Quince Orchard, they will head out on the road to challenge Walter Johnson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Quince Orchard focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Friday.
