The Pinnacle Panthers will square off against the Tintic Miners at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Tintic took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Pinnacle, who comes in off a win.
Pinnacle took a 15-run loss the last time they faced off against Green River, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Pirates 6-5 on Friday. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten the Pirates on their field since September 9, 2022.
Brody Howell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Dominick Vigil and Bryson Shumway did most of the damage at the plate: Vigil went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Shumway went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Shumway has posted since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joey Howell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Tintic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 21-8 to Bryce Valley.
Gavin Bratt was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Bratt is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Tintic's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Pinnacle, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
