Port St. Joe has been on the road for two straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Wakulla War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Port St. Joe ended up a good deal behind Sneads and lost 69-55.
Despite the loss, Port St. Joe had strong showings from Jaden Jenrett, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds, and Zay Jenkins, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals. Jenkins scored a full 25.5% of Port St. Joe's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Elijah Harris, who scored 6 points.
Meanwhile, Wakulla was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Jefferson County 83-53 at home. The win was just what Wakulla needed coming off of a 68-39 defeat in their prior contest.
Nehemiah Chandler was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 16 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Vaughn, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds.
Port St. Joe's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wakulla, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Everything came up roses for Port St. Joe against Wakulla when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 75-38 victory. Will Port St. Joe repeat their success, or does Wakulla have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
