The Metlakatla Chiefs came tearing into Saturday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Haines with a 51-46 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Metlakatla also won the last time the pair played on Friday.
Metlakatla's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Haines, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metlakatla and the Panthers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Craig will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alaska Rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Chiefs are ranked 13th).
