Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Seminary Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 30-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jefferson County on Friday. Seminary lost against Jefferson County in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 42-6 score last time.
It was another big night for Jabari Watson, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 273 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes. Jefferson County also got help from Royale Shelvy who showed off his sure hands for 100 receiving yards.
Seminary's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Jefferson County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Seminary does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jefferson County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Noxubee County at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Noxubee County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
