Prospect Ridge Academy waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Arrupe Jesuit Generals as they made off with a 79-54 victory. The Miners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 22 points or more this season.
Prospect Ridge Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Travis Agbosse led the charge by going 8-for-12 en route to 18 points in addition to six assists and five boards. That's the most assists Agbosse has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Liam Schilling, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 17 points along with five steals and five blocks.
Agbosse wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Prospect Ridge Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They racked up nine more assists than Arrupe Jesuit's also-impressive total of 12.
Despite the loss, Arrupe Jesuit still got an impressive performance from Louie Garcia, who put up 20 points. Garcia continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Yahir Pizarro was another key player, putting up five points and 11 rebounds.
Prospect Ridge Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-10.
Coming up, Prospect Ridge Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against D'Evelyn at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Prospect Ridge Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully D'Evelyn likes a good challenge. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they will head out on the road to take on Lake County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
