Leander is a perfect 6-0 against Lockhart since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Leander will host Lockhart at 2:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Leander's favor as the team sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Lockhart has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Lockhart's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: Leander hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Lions never let Rouse get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Monday. Considering the Lions have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Kylee Arnold made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madelyn Huling, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Madelyn Lee was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Lockhart scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 15-11 to Cedar Park. Even if the Lions couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Sabrina Araiza was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Jordann Deutsch, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.
Leander's victory bumped their record up to 19-5-1. As for Lockhart, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.
Leander got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Lockhart by a conclusive 12-2 score. Does Leander have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lockhart turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
