Southwest Covenant had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Central 55-8. That result is just more of the same for Southwest Covenant, who also won the last time these teams played.
Southwest Covenant's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 44 points in the first half. Central came up with 8 to make it 44-8 heading into the break. The other side of the ball continued to do well for Southwest Covenant in the second half and held Central to 0 points. This was the first game for both teams, giving Southwest Covenant a 1-0 record and starting Central off at 0-1.
Next week, Southwest Covenant take on Empire . Central are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Alex next week at 7:30 PM.
