Nevada Union was the 2-1 winner over Ripon when they last played one another back in October of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Miners fell 2-0 to the Indians on Saturday. The Miners' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Nevada Union was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Ripon work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 29-27.

Ashley Thompson paced Nevada Union's offense, picking up eight kills. Thompson got some help from Ellyse Havlorson and her 13 assists. Finally, Ava Figuly kept Nevada Union's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Nevada Union now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Ripon, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Nevada Union has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Del Oro on the 3rd. As for Ripon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Sierra on the 2nd.
