Capistrano Valley Christian suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were beaten by San Gabriel Academy 66-37. Capistrano Valley Christian has struggled against San Gabriel Academy recently, as their game on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Benjamin Makelela, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and six blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cetin Seles, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Orangewood Academy pushed their score all the way to 73 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Pacifica Christian/Orange County by a score of 75-73. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Tuesday (69), Orangewood Academy still had to take the loss.
Capistrano Valley Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Orangewood Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
Capistrano Valley Christian couldn't quite finish off Orangewood Academy in their previous matchup last Thursday and fell 60-58. Can Capistrano Valley Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
