Softball Recap: Venture Academy's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Venture Academy extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 9-2 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Millennium Falcons. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Savanah Espinoza was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Venture Academy let Natalie Padilla and Tiffany Bruss run wild. Padilla fired off three runs, three doubles, and three RBI while going 4-for-4, while Bruss went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three doubles gave Padilla a new career-high. Amiyah Pizano was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Venture Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive contests.

As for Millennium, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2. The game marked their lowest-scoring match so far this season.

On Millennium's side, Nora Coutts made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Venture Academy will square off against Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Millennium, they will take on Pacheco at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
