Baseball Recap: St. Catherine's Comes Up Short

St. Catherine fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Kenosha Christian Life on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 16-8 to the Eagles. The Angels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2017.

Findlay Lalor put in work no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lalor was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Issac Cantu made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. St. Catherine's is 3-1 when Cantu posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Mauricio Talamantez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

St. Catherine's record now sits at 3-5. As for Kenosha Christian Life, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Looking ahead, St. Catherine's will challenge St. Francis at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kenosha Christian Life, they have already played their next matchup, a 16-8 victory against Racine Saint Catherine?s/Racine Lutheran on the 25th.
