Basketball Recap: Zoey Barrett Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat White Creek Christian Academy

Eastgate Life Academy proved they can win big back in December of 2024 (they won by 23) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the White Creek Christian Academy Eagles 37-35. This was a revenge game for Eastgate Life Academy: when they faced off against White Creek Christian Academy back in November of 2024, they had to take a 44-29 defeat.

Eastgate Life Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoey Barrett, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Barrett a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Neely Anderson, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Eastgate Life Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for White Creek Christian Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastgate Life Academy will face off against Woody Gap at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for White Creek Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Trinity Classical at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th.
