The Franklin Wildcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Cosumnes Oaks on the road and fell 44-17. While losing is never fun, Franklin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 566th, while Cosumnes Oaks is ranked 216th).
When it comes to explaining why Franklin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Allan Rogers. Despite the final result, he rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.
Franklin's defeat was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Franklin will be playing in front of their home fans against Elk Grove at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Elk Grove is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. Cosumnes Oaks does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
