Having just played yesterday, the Bell Creek Academy Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Bell Creek Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Even though Canterbury scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, Bell Creek Academy still came out on top. Bell Creek Academy managed a 61-55 win over Canterbury. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 15 to 4 on the offensive boards, as Bell Creek Academy did.
Bell Creek Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christyana Allen led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Allen hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Falynne Fischer was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Palm Harbor University's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They suffered a tough 59-39 loss at the hands of Clearwater Central Catholic. While losing is never fun, Palm Harbor University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Clearwater Central Catholic is ranked 105th).
Bell Creek Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Palm Harbor University, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.
