The Eastwood Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Genoa Area Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastwood is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Eastwood, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 35-21 loss to Oak Harbor.
Despite the loss, Eastwood had strong showings from Kadyn Donnell, who threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns, and Andre Lewis, who picked up 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Genoa Area never got on the board in their last matchup, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Rossford last Friday. Genoa Area breezed by Rossford on the road to the tune of 56-0. The result was nothing new for Genoa Area, who have now won five contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
With Eastwood's defeat and Genoa Area's victory, both teams now sport identical 7-2 records.
Eastwood was able to grind out a solid win over Genoa Area when the teams last played back in September of 2022, winning 34-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eastwood since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
