Mount Michael Benedictine extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping their season record up to 9-10 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 13-12 W against the Omaha North Vikings. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

The team relied heavily on Barett Sykora, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. JJ Stiles was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mount Michael Benedictine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
As for Omaha North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games.
On Omaha North's side, Connor O'Neill put in work no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). What's more, O'Neill gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Chance Kinman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Omaha North is 5-2 when Kinman posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Colin Kinman, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Michael Benedictine will challenge Tekamah-Herman at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Knights' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Tigers have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road. As for Omaha North, they will host Omaha South at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Packers have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
