4A District 2 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Los Alamos and Albuquerque Academy played the most hotly contested game in 4A District 2 this week, with Los Alamos eventually emerging with a 29-25 victory.
The Hilltoppers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 29 points on the Chargers.
Bernalillo's Ralf Olguin and Nick Reyes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Olguin has thrown for 227 yards this season, while Reyes, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 14 catches for 132 yards. Anthony Abeyta from Santa Fe leads the league in rushing with 646 yards.
A big matchup in 4A District 2 this week will be when the Demons take on Espanola Valley. Santa Fe is in third place, while the Sun Devils are in second place.
Los Alamos made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,747 from 9,635. The advance stemmed from a 29-25 victory over Albuquerque Academy last week.
