Softball Recap: Fort Payne Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

Fort Payne never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Coosa Christian Conquerors. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Carley Cash, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Green, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Fort Payne has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Coosa Christian, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coming up, Fort Payne will head out on the road to challenge Gadsden City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.14 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Coosa Christian, they will be playing at home against Clay-Chalkville at 5:30 p.m. on the 10th.
