The Borden Braves will head out on the road to take on the North Harrison Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Borden is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Friday, Borden got the win against Shoals by a conclusive 14-2. Considering the Braves have won three contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Emma Hart made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Hart was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Borden let AJ Mallard and Alayna Martin run wild. Mallard went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Martin went 1-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Reagan Loy, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Borden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shoals didn't got any hits.
Meanwhile, North Harrison gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Orleans by a score of 4-1.
Kendall Christie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, North Harrison's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bayley Myrick, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Borden pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for North Harrison, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Borden couldn't quite finish off North Harrison in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Braves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
