The Fort Bend Kempner Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Fulshear Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Even though Fort Bend Kempner has not done well against the Falcons recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Fort Bend Kempner had just enough and edged the Falcons out 56-54. Given Fort Bend Kempner's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Falcons are ranked 577th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Fulshear entered their tilt with the Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Fulshear secured a 58-52 W over the Eagles on Tuesday.
The win (which was alsoFort Bend Kempner's third in a row) raised their record to 21-7. As for Fulshear, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season.
Fort Bend Kempner came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chargers in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 64-61. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Bend Kempner since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
