The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Calvary Christian Academy came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 40th in Delaware, while Worcester Prep is ranked 172nd in Maryland).
Calvary Christian Academy's loss came about despite a quality game from Diaya Armantrading, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Armantrading has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Leia Sensenig (HS), who scored eight points.
Faith Baptist School's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Thursday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Faith Baptist School have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 35.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Calvary Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 24.8 rebounds per game. Given Faith Baptist School's sizeable advantage in that area, Calvary Christian Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
