The St. Francis Spartans's five-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They managed a 57-52 victory over Sycamore. This was payback for St. Francis, who suffered a 55-48 defeat the last time these two teams met.
St. Francis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lynsey Cleveland out in front who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cleveland has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of T?a Rubino, who scored 18 points.
St. Francis now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Sycamore, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-7.
St. Francis' road trip will continue as they head out to face Fenwick at 1:30 p.m. on January 6th. Fenwick will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 287th, while St. Francis is ranked 73rd). As for Sycamore, they will be playing at home against Hampshire at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hampshire is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
