If Athens Academy was riding high fresh off their 58-37 takedown of Stephens County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Athens Academy Spartans fell to the Oglethorpe County Patriots 49-43. The Spartans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Athens Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Oglethorpe County, the win snapped their losing streak at ten games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-9 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Athens Academy will challenge Commerce at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
