Leuzinger stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hawthorne 86-31 on the road. Given Leuzinger's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Hawthorne is ranked 1061st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leuzinger's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Godspower Otuonye, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Malachi Knight, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Otuonye has scored all season. Stephen Charles was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Schurr took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 75-34 win over Bell Gardens.
Leuzinger has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Schurr, their victory bumped their record up to 15-12.
