Liberty Christian is 0-3 against Ursuline Academy since February of 2016 but things could change on Saturday. The Warriors will take on the Bears at 9:30 a.m. Liberty Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Liberty Christian's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They didn't even let Parish Episcopal on the board, marking the Warriors' second-straight 11-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.
Makenzie Byler made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Byler was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Pearl Battaglia was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Paige Childers, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Meanwhile, Ursuline Academy came up short against Legacy Christian Academy on Friday, falling 18-11. The defeat continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.
Emily Cash led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenly Fink, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Liberty Christian's record now sits at 10-4-1. As for Ursuline Academy, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Ursuline Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Liberty Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Ursuline Academy, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Liberty Christian's sizable advantage in that area, the Bears will need to find a way to close that gap.
Liberty Christian might still be hurting after the 21-0 loss they got from Ursuline Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2021. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
