The Mesa Ridge Grizzlies won the last time they faced the Pueblo East Eagles, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Mesa Ridge claimed a resounding 73-27 win over Pueblo East on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-15.
Mesa Ridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tevin Riehl out in front who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Widic, who scored 16 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Mesa Ridge and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Pueblo East, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Mesa Ridge will take on Thompson Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Thompson Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday. As for Pueblo East, they will head out on the road to face off against Ponderosa at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ponderosa knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Pueblo East likes a good challenge.
