The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Fivay Falcons at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 62-52 win over Nordonia. Given Brecksville-Broadview Heights' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Nordonia is ranked 416th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Fivay scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Citrus 88-45 at home. Considering Fivay has won five games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fivay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Orvill Ortiz, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Ortiz scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antwan Brown, who scored 19 points.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Fivay, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Brecksville-Broadview Heights against Fivay in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 70-30 victory. Does Brecksville-Broadview Heights have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fivay turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
