Fairfield ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-40 walloping at the hands of Lakota East. Fairfield has not had much luck with Lakota East recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Lakota East was led to victory by Brooke Asher and Bella Sturgill. Asher scored 17 points along with 5 assists, while Sturgill scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Celina Blount, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Lakota East, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Fairfield will head out on the road to face off against Mason at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mason presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fairfield in Ohio (Mason is ranked 90th, while Fairfield is ranked 321st). As for Lakota East, they will be playing at home against Pickerington Central at 4:40 p.m. on Sunday.
