Volleyball Recap: Cornerstone Charter Starts Season with Win at Home

Cornerstone Charter gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past the Southwestern Randolph Cougars 3-0.

Cornerstone Charter got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-18, 31-29.

Aubrey Kimball was the offensive standout of the match as she had 14 digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Kimball wasn't the only good server: Cornerstone Charter was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Coming up, Cornerstone Charter will face off against McMichael at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southwestern Randolph, they will be taking part in a tournament against East Rowan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
