After a string of 15 wins dating back to last season, Marksville's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Wossman Wildcats by a score of 63-61. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Devin Lavalais, who posted four points in addition to ten rebounds, eight blocks, and seven assists. Lavalais is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Elydrick Murray, who went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points and four steals.
Having lost for the first time this season, Marksville fell to 8-1. As for Wossman, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marksville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rapides at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
