Basketball Recap: Battle Creek's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Battle Creek). They snuck past the Mt. Pleasant Tigers with a 38-32 win on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Grizzlies as it spelled an end to their 16-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Mt. Pleasant still got an impressive performance from Ashley Turner, who posted 18 points and six boards. Those 18 points gave Turner a new career-high. Sadie Sandrell was another key player, putting up five points and 12 rebounds.

Battle Creek's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-20. As for Mt. Pleasant, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Battle Creek will venture away from home to square off against Spring Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Pleasant, they are taking a road trip to take on Loretto at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Loretto will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Mt. Pleasant surely won't give up without a fight.
