The King Cove T-Jacks and Rookies stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Koliganek 74-42 on the road. King Cove's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Jager Brandell went supernova for King Cove, scoring 35 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Mack, who scored 16 points.
Despite the defeat, Koliganek saw an underclassman step up: Gusty Tunguing IV scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Tristan Goodell, who scored six points.
King Cove's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Koliganek, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
King Cove on the road again on Saturday and play against Bristol Bay at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. Bristol Bay will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alaska Rankings (they are ranked 66th, while King Cove is ranked 19th). Koliganek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
