Oldenburg Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They fell just short of the South Ripley Raiders by a score of  4-2.  For South Ripley's part,  Ellie Combs made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Combs was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-3 with two  doubles and a  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Brooklyn Brown was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.  Julia Hilton was another key contributor,  going 2-for-4 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 Oldenburg Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for South Ripley, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oldenburg Academy will  square off against North Decatur at 6:45  p.m.  on Thursday. As for South Ripley, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Switzerland County at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. South Ripley and Switzerland County are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
