After a string of eight wins, The Orosi Cardinals''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 22-21 to Woodlake. Orosi gained 68 more yards on the day, but it was Woodlake that made the best of use of them.
Despite the loss, Orosi had strong showings from Andrew Camarillo, who rushed for 213 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and Jason De la cruz, who rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns. Camarillo is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played.
Woodlake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vincent Duran, who threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Orosi's defeat dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Woodlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.
