Rosamond has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the California City Ravens at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rosamond knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully California City likes a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Rosamond gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Mammoth 82-48 at home. That's two games straight that Rosamond has won by exactly 34 points.
Andrew Arredondo and Fabian Robles were among the main playmakers for Rosamond as the former scored 20 points and the latter scored 29 points. Arredondo is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Gomez, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, California City had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 72-25 win over Boron at home. That looming 72-25 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for California City yet this season.
California City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carlito Brown, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. Darrius Brown was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Rosamond is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for California City, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Rosamond hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 63.4 points per game. However, it's not like California City struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 52.9 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Rosamond and California City were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but Rosamond came up empty-handed after a 59-58 defeat. Can Rosamond avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
