The Streator Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 41-14 loss at the hands of Manteno. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Streator in their matchups with Manteno: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Streator lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mina James. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Streator struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Manteno racked up 11 assists.
Manteno was led to victory by Sydney Sosnowski and Maddie Gesky. Sosnowski scored eight points along with seven steals and five rebounds, while Gesky dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Streator dropped their record down to 1-25 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.3 points per game. As for Manteno, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-10.
Coincidentally, Streator and Manteno will both be playing Lisle the next time they take the court. Manteno will host Lisle at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, while Streator will head out to face them at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
