Baseball Recap: North Allegheny Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between North Allegheny and Norwin, and Norwin kept the tradition alive. North Allegheny fell just short of Norwin by a score of 9-8 on Monday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

JJ Mancuso and Mason Smith did some serious damage despite the final result: Mancuso went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Smith went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs Smith has posted since back in April of 2024. Miles Pealer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4.

North Allegheny's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Norwin, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coincidentally, North Allegheny and Norwin will both be playing Upper St. Clair the next time they take the field. Norwin will head out to face Upper St. Clair at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while North Allegheny will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
